Air Canada Helpful Information

Air Canada is the largest airline in Canada and the nation’s national carrier. They run a full-service operation and boast the largest fleet and most routes and services in the Great White North, Air Canada is certified as a 4-star airline.

We have put together a helpful guide of important information you may need before you fly.

You can check in through the Air Canada - Manage My Booking portal. To access your flight, you will require your Air Canada Booking Reference, found on your My Canada Trips documentation as well as your Surname.

  • Online Check-In: which we recommend, is available 24 hours prior to departure with free seat reservations, however, this is always subject to availability.
  • Check-in at the airport: kiosks will open 3 hours before flight departure.

For international travel, you require a government-issued Passport with at least 6 months of validity from the date you return to the United Kingdom. Please see our helpful ‘Passports, Visas & FCO advice’ section if you are unsure of your requirements.

Advanced Passenger Information (APIS) Advanced Passenger Information can be collected at Check-In at the airport. In addition, we thoroughly recommend completing this information in advance online through Air Canada - Manage My Booking. Note for Air Canada APIS can presently not be done in advance and only be completed at the online check-in stage or at the airport.

Free Seat Selection: From 24 Hours prior to departure, seat selection is free and can be completed at check-in online or at the airport. Seat selection for Business and Premium Economy is free and can be completed at the time of booking, please advise your consultant directly on your seating preferences.

Seat Selection at Charge: It is now the industry standard for seat selection to be at a cost and can only be booked directly through the airline, seat costs are per person per flight. Seat selection can only be completed once your flights have been ticketed, this typically happens automatically roughly 4 weeks prior to travel. However, if purchasing a seat is very important to you please touch base with your consultant directly anytime after your final payment has been made and they can request early ticketing on your behalf, this will allow you seat selection access within 24 hours via Air Canada - Manage My Booking. Once you have made payment to Air Canada, please make sure the payment has processed correctly, otherwise your seats may not be confirmed.
