Next, we journeyed to Nelson, a town known for its well-preserved Victorian architecture and vibrant arts scene. En route, we visited the Doukhobors museum in Castlegar, which showcases the heritage of the Russian religious sect that settled in the area. The museum provided a fascinating insight into the lives and traditions of the Doukhobors. Upon arriving in Nelson, we spent the evening enjoying local craft beers at Torchlight Brewery and dining at Marzanos on Baker Street, where the combination of good food and local brews made for a delightful evening.

Revelstoke was our next destination, offering a mix of outdoor adventure and cultural experiences. The drive to Revelstoke included a quick coffee break in Nakusp, a charming town nestled between mountains and lakes. The short ferry journey from Galena Bay to Shelter Bay was a scenic highlight, with calm waters and beautiful mountain views. The thrill of the day was experiencing the Pipe Mountain Coaster at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, an exhilarating ride that offered stunning panoramic views. The weather continued to be in our favor, with clear skies providing perfect visibility. After checking into Sutton Place Hotel, we explored the vibrant Art Alley, part of the Luna Arts Festival, which showcased local art installations and performances. Dinner at Craft Bierhaus rounded off the day with hearty food and good company.

Golden was our next stop, where we explored the Golden Skybridge, Canada’s highest suspension bridge. The bridge offered breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, providing a thrilling and picturesque experience. The town itself is home to the longest free-standing timber-framed pedestrian bridge in Canada, which spans the Kicking Horse River. Walking along this impressive structure was a unique experience. Dinner at Eleven22 provided a taste of the local culinary scene, featuring fresh, regional ingredients.

The final days of our journey took us to Invermere and Radium Hot Springs. We started with a visit to Panorama Mountain Resort, known for its excellent ski slopes and summer activities. Lunch at Cliffhanger at Greywolf Golf Course offered stunning mountain vistas, making for a memorable dining experience. The highlight of the day was the ATV tour to Paradise Mine with Toby Creek Adventures. This exhilarating tour took us through rugged terrain and historical mining sites, offering spectacular views and an adrenaline rush. The good weather continued to bless our trip, with sunny skies enhancing our outdoor adventures. Arriving in Radium Hot Springs, we checked into the Prestige Radium Hot Springs Resort. The hot springs, located within Kootenay National Park, provided a relaxing soak in mineral-rich waters, a perfect way to unwind after a day of adventure.

Our journey concluded with a drive to Calgary, where we reflected on the diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage experienced throughout the trip. From the vibrant cityscapes of Vancouver to the serene vineyards of Osoyoos, the historic charm of Nelson, the adventurous spirit of Revelstoke, and the stunning vistas of Golden and Radium Hot Springs, this tour showcased the best of what Canada has to offer. The clear, favorable weather throughout the trip was an added blessing, enhancing our experiences and allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of each destination.
