Nestled on the pristine shores of Vancouver Island, Painter’s Lodge offers world-class BC salmon fishing, thrilling wildlife and whale watching tours, breathtaking scenery and all the amenities you’d expect from a traditional resort. However, Painter’s Lodge is far from your everyday resort.

Located in the "salmon capital of the world" Campbell River, British Columbia, Painters Lodge is a world-famous fishing resort. This site has been home to recreational angling for decades. Along with BC salmon fishing, you can watch marine life play as you tour the coastline on a Wildlife Adventure Tour, experience the majesty of Orca whales, soak in the outdoor pool or refine your serve on the tennis courts.
Hotel amenities include:
Leg ends Dining Room, Tyee Pub, Fireside Lounge, outdoor swimming pool, hot tubs, fitness centre, tennis courts, gift shop, car & bike rentals and children's activity centre, marine adventure centre, water shuttle to April point (At own cost) and hot continental breakfast.
Painter's Lodge guests are welcome to use all the facilities at April Point Resort.
Note: Children 12 years old and under stay free when sharing their parents’ room.
Vancouver to Campbell River
This morning transfer to Vancouver International Airport’s “South Terminal” for a scheduled scenic flight to Campbell River and transfer to Painter’s Lodge, your getaway in nature for the next two nights.
Grizzly Bear Viewing Tour
In the morning you depart directly from the lodge’s dock for your grizzly bear tour. The tour begins with a stunning 2 hour boat ride into the untouched Orford River in Bute Inlet. You will then have 3 hours to view the magnificent bears from the viewing platforms, followed by lunch back at the docks. On the way back, the captain might choose a different route than in the morning, to enjoy different scenery and the chance to view more animals including whales and dolphins.
