Surrounded by pristine waterways and native forest, the Lodge has been constructed to make the most of its secluded location which is not accessible by road. Choose from charming accommodation options; Standard or Family rooms or contemporary architecturally designed Superior Suites built over the wetlands. The main lodge is warm, inviting and full of character with a comfy lounge, library, bar, restaurant and outdoor pizzeria which is open to day visitors, many of whom are walking the coastal track. Enjoy a range of activities like a guided walk or kayak with one of the partner operators, relax on the famous Awaroa beach or take a walk through the grounds and surrounds.
Arriving at the Lodge is part of the experience of your stay and you may choose to arrive on foot or via a scenic water taxi cruise.
You will not find some of the usual things that you might expect in a 4 star hotel such as televisions, spa pools and cellphone reception! The lodge generates its own power and uses a satellite for WiFi connection - the lodge does, however, have great food, welcoming staff, comfortable beds, an abundance of birdlife and sensational night skies!
Awaroa Lodge is beautifully secluded and with no direct road access, arrival options by water or air are unique and spectacular and should be arranged at the time of booking. Due to the remote location, Awaroa Lodge is a TV and cellphone free environment although we do have WiFi.
