Calgary Stampede 2024, 2025

Professional cowboys compete in a myriad of rodeo events, which includes bull riding, roping, chuckwagon racing, steer wrestling and barrel racing. Don your western duds, saddle up and join us for Stampede breakfasts galore, square dancing, parades, the fun of the midway, great exhibits, a spectacular Grandstand show, fireworks and of course, heaping helpings of Western hospitality.

This is a show like no other!!!

Here’s what we thought....

Billed as “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”, it certainly delivers. The atmosphere in the city itself is electric. The buzz, excitement and the enthusiasm from the locals is palpable. The city of Calgary is truly alive – and this is before getting near the actual Stampede!

The Stampede events themselves are fantastic! The rodeo show offers 9 different events including the broncos, bull riding and bareback events, and with a packed stadium the atmosphere is incredible. The Chuckwagon Races and Grandstand show on the second day presents more entertainment as you get caught up in the excitement of the races followed by a world class show featuring song and dance numbers, acrobats and a firework display!

This is definitely an event that should be on everyone’s “bucket list” a fantastic event that lives up to its billing!

STAMPEDE PARADE

The World Champion Calgary Stampede Showband leads the parade, followed by a dynamic ribbon of pageantry featuring beautiful floats, the finest marching bands, riders, celebrities and enchanting cultural entries. The parade starts promptly at 9 a.m., but head down there early to ensure a great spot!

 Weadickville recreates a Calgary streetscape from a century ago. Vintage storefronts showcase delicious foods, crafts and entertainment. Featuring the best $2 treats on the Midway, this authentic western town setting re-creates a Calgary street circa 1912. Located West of the Coke Stage, it’s a cool and comfortable place to relax and enjoy western entertainment in the town centre gazebo stage.

 WESTERN OASIS

You've never discovered western culture quite like this.

There’s something for the whole family in this calm, cool oasis, where creativity abounds. Stroll through art, music, crafts, food and wine in a lush garden setting, with the distinctive flavour of the West.  Located in the BMO Centre.

STAMPEDE MIDWAY

Pop, drop, and whack your way across the Midway.

There’s enough white-knuckled exhilaration on the Midway to satisfy any adrenaline aficionado—even specially sized kids’ rides in The Great FUNtier! If you prefer skills to thrills, the Midway games will challenge your hand-eye coordination. Just keep your eyes on the target, and you might take home a prize.
 

FOOD AND DRINKS

From the famous mini donuts to fresh squeezed lemonade, wood-fired BBQ Beef, and deep-fried bacon-wrapped anything on a stick, there’s something for every taste bud here. Every year, there are new foods to try—tantalizing, and sometimes adventurous fare — and sampling some of it is an essential part of the Stampede experience!

CHUCKWAGON RACES & TRANSALTA GRANDSTAND SHOW:

This unique entertainment doubleheader takes place nightly at 7:45 PM. The blast of a klaxon kicks off the GMC Rangeland Derby, featuring nine heats of four chuckwagons each; excitement that’s measured on the Richter Scale. When the last wagon thunders over the finish line, the TransAlta Grandstand Show begins with elaborate song and dance numbers, acrobatics, and a spectacular fireworks finale!
